That’s right; your Lompoc Parks Recreation & Urban Forestry Department is at it again, bringing popular programs and events to the Lompoc Community. Gather all of your neighbors, families and friends for an event that is larger than life. On Saturday, September 18th the popular “Movie in the Park” program is returning to Lompoc’s Ryon Park. Last year, over 300 people gathered in the old section of Ryon Park to watch a movie on a very large, inflatable movie screen and the community response was amazing! Thanks to the support of many sponsors, the program is back this year, not just one movie, but two different dates.
The evening will begin at 6:00pm with music, games and children’s activities, but the Movie will start at dusk. We encourage you to grab your blankets, low back chairs, friends and family members and head out to Ryon Park to get a good seat on the grass. This is a great opportunity for families and friends to have a dinner picnic with a meal that you have brought from home or one that you purchased from the Parks and Recreation snack bar. You can sit back and relax, while we entertain the kids thanks to a donation from the Santa Barbara Foundation Lompoc Affiliate and the Tobacco Prevention Settlement Program. This program would not be possible without the support of the Santa Barbara County Parks Department, Santa Barbara County Parks Foundation and the Santa Barbara County Film Commission. Enjoying a Movie in the Park is a one-of-a-kind experience that offers everyone the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy the show under the stars.
